"I think the biggest trend is in medicine in the future has to do with the fine balance of insurance and healthcare in general. The business aspect is putting a strain on providers, which in turn affects patient care. If certain procedures don't get authorized before physicians do them, then patients get bills that they aren't happy with. As a result they won't be able to see their doctors, and this creates a vicious cycle which leads to terrible patient care. I think physicians have to get up to par with the business aspect to hopefully treat patients even better."

Amit Mehta, M.D., Founder, Premier Pain & Spine

With 8 years dedicated to medicine, Dr. Mehta brings a wealth of knowledge to his industry, and in particular, to his area of expertise, anesthesiology and interventional pain management. When asked why he decided to pursue a career in this specialization, Dr. Mehta said:

"I enjoy seeing patients who are able to leave the office pain free, and who are able to enjoy life after my treatment modalities. The simple increase in functionality on a daily basis is what I strive for in my practice."

As a thought-leader in his specialty, Dr. Mehta is able to keep his finger on the pulse of prevailing trends in pain medicine as well as the medical industry as a whole. As he discusses, he is an advocate for ending the vicious cycle of patients not being able to get the care they need due to restrictions with their healthcare providers. He noted:
